1. Sight - What Do We See?
We use our eyes to see things! π
- Look around you. What colors can you see?
- Eyes help us see the bright sun ☀️, colorful flowers πΈ, and even our favorite cartoons!
Activity: Play a game of “I spy” with your friends or family. Example: "I spy with my little eye something blue!"
2. Hearing - What Do We Hear?
Our ears help us listen to sounds. πΆ
- What do you hear right now? Is it birds chirping π¦, a car honking π, or someone talking?
- Ears help us enjoy music and hear stories!
Activity: Close your eyes and listen. Count how many different sounds you can hear.
3. Taste - What Do We Taste?
Our tongue helps us taste yummy things. π
- Some foods are sweet (like candy π¬), some are sour (like lemons π), and some are salty (like chips π₯¨).
- What’s your favorite food?
Activity: Try tasting a small piece of fruit, chocolate, or a cracker. Can you tell if it’s sweet, salty, or sour?
4. Smell - What Do We Smell?
Our nose helps us smell all kinds of things. πΉ
- Smell a flower, your favorite food, or even soap!
- Some smells are nice, like cookies baking πͺ, and some are not-so-nice, like stinky socks! π§¦
Activity: Smell three different things at home (like an orange, shampoo, or a spice). Which one smells the best?
5. Touch - What Do We Feel?
Our skin helps us touch and feel things. π️
- Is something soft, rough, or smooth?
- Your hands feel if something is hot π₯ or cold ❄️, or if it’s hard or squishy.
Activity: Find objects like a teddy bear (soft), a spoon (cold), or a book (hard). How do they feel?
Song Time: Sing Along! π΅
Here’s a fun song about our senses:
(Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star")
π΅ I have senses, yes I do,
Eyes to see, the sky so blue.
Ears to hear the birds that sing,
Tongue to taste ice cream and things.
Skin to feel soft and rough,
My nose smells flowers—that’s enough! π΅
